Our Kids’ Vaccines: New CDC Guidance, Our Real Decisions, and What Parents Should Know

Newborn & Infant

In January 2026, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) changed recommendations for several childhood vaccines. In an apparent effort to boost trust in the US healthcare system and make the US' vaccine schedule more similar to some other developed countries (hey, Denmark), the CDC removed recommendations that kids routinely get key vaccines like Hepatitis B, Influenza, and more.

As both parents and a board-certified obgyn and pediatrician duo, we have some concerns. We know that taking your kids to get their vaccines can be scary, especially when some - like Hepatitis B - take place right after birth. We'll never say that vaccines are 100% safe, but they are highly effective at preventing some of the worst outcomes of diseases that we see in the hospital.

In this video, we'll cover:

💉 What are these new recommendations?

🤔 Which change concerns us most?

🇩🇰 What does Denmark have to do with it? 👀

👀 And which vaccines have we NOT gotten for our own kids?
